Job Title: Entrepreneurial Project Leader

Simcere Innovation is currently looking for outstanding scientists who aspire to become entrepreneurs with creative ideas and business plans. The Entrepreneurial Project Leader will serve as a “internal startup founder” to drive projects forward together with his/her team, whereas Simcere Innovation will provide funding, infrastructure and other necessary resources.



· Builds and leads an internal “startup” team to deliver high quality drug projects within timelines, while simultaneously providing quarterly projects reports.

· Provides continuous critical evaluation of project strategies and adjusts these strategies accordingly if necessary.

· Serves as an internal expert to provide the necessary expertise for other projects.

  • Ensures compliance of all program activities; accountable for the direction of key preclinical, clinical, and regulatory documents, including but are not limited to: study protocols, study reports, modeling reports, investigator brochures, patent applications, and IND/IMPDs within agreed timelines and meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders relevant to drug candidates and therapeutic areas.
  • Provides expertise for the identification and evaluation of potential business development opportunities
  • Required:
  • In depth experience with designing and developing drug portfolios within the fields of cell therapy and gene therapy with the ability to develop business plans.
  • Possesses deep insights on industry trends and provides targets Simcere should pursue to gain competitive advantages in the global markets of cell therapy, gene therapy, or antibody discovery.
  • Extensive experience with the supervision and mentorship of R&D teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, management and organizational skills demonstrated in a team environment
  • · Superior verbal and written communication skills for presentations, writing reports, and daily communications with colleagues and project team members.
  • · Self-starter and strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to drive innovation.
  • Team oriented, highly motivated, execution focused with strong work ethic, ability to thrive in an entrepreneur and multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment.


  • Strong research and development-based publications with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Ability to form strong teams through excellent teamwork skills.
  • Capability to interact with and manage research scientists, project teams, outside collaborators and commercial vendors
  • Experience with contributing scientific background and supporting data for IND or NDA filing.
